I had a beautiful time with Fabriana and Joel for their New York engagement photoshoot! We woke up early to catch the sunrise which added such a great touch to their intimate engagement pictures. We headed over to Dumbo, Brooklyn which offered stunning skyline views! The PERFECT backdrop for their New York engagement photoshoot! I was so honored to be apart of Fabriana and Joel’s special day by capturing their love all over the city. Not only did I capture their New York engagement, I also have the honor of shooting their destination wedding in Puerto Rico in January 2023!
Why You Should Do an Engagement Shoot with your Wedding Photographer
I know not everyone wants to do an engagement session, whether it’s to save money or you’re just not much of a picture person. Whatever the reason is, it’s understandable! But here are a few reasons why you should consider doing an engagement shoot with your wedding photographer.
Quality Time Together
Your wedding day is filled with so many people, but your wedding photographer will be by your side most of the day! If you plan an engagement photoshoot with your photographer, it offers time to really get to know your photographer to avoid any awkwardness on your special day! It’s a great time to bond with your photographer so you can get to know one another.
Practice Your Wedding Day Poses
If you get camera shy, which a lot of people do, now is the time to shake off those camera jitters! By having an engagement session with your wedding photographer, you get to practice poses and use it as a trial run before your big day! The last thing you want to stress about on your wedding day is how you are going to pose for your bride and groom photos!
Get to Know your Photographers Style
Every wedding photographer works differently. If you have the chance to have an engagement session with your photographer prior to your wedding, you will get to know what you like about your photographers style vs. what you don’t like as much. Such as different poses they might want you to do, the angles they take their photos or their editing style. That way you have plenty of time to work out the details so your wedding portraits come out picture perfect!
