Engagement Session in Brooklyn Bridge

Congratulations! You’re getting married! What an incredible time in your life! Committing a lifetime of love to the one you have fallen head over heels for. I wish you all the best for your future elopement/wedding planning and please contact me if you would like to chat about photographing your celebration. Enjoy checking out these fabulous, raw, and authentic engagement session portraits in NYC. The newly engaged couple Vivien and Paul are deep in love and the Brooklyn Bridge in Dumbo NYC is forever a special place.

Ok, I’ve held out this long to get the blog details started and now here is the real ‘honey’ to the love story. Vivien contacted me to do the photoshoot as a farewell to NYC, as they prepared for their Californian move in a matter of weeks. We meet up at the designated time at Brooklyn Bridge DUMBO and we said a friendly hi and hug and start to set up. Vivien is deciding on whether to wear a hat or not off to the side and then it happens!! Paul turns to me and very quietly and quickly shows me that inside his blazer pocket he is proudly holding a gorgeous engagement ring. Shh, he signals to me! At that moment I realize it’s camera on, he is going to propose!

Surprises, I just love them. I love the way they catch people, including me, off-guard. If you have a camera around when someone is surprised, you will capture authentic pics and you can’t fake that surprised look. View the portraits of Paul popping the world-famous question, “Will you marry me”? And of course, the answer was a big “YES” from Vivien. A picture tells the story of a thousand words the quote says, and it’s so true in these surprise engagement session portraits. Paul is cool, calm, and collected. Vivien is totally unaware, until he gets down on one knee with a velvet red box in his hand and opens it up. Her face lights up the bridge. Laughter, tears, hugs, kisses, dancing, and love. As a photographer I am so honored to share this very intimate moment with this beautiful couple.

Dressed up in navy, semi-formal style for the Brooklyn Bridge engagement portraits and casual terracotta and jeans for sunset portraits on the DUMBO. This 19th century suspension Bridge is picture perfect with amazing skylines and surrounding vibe inclusive. The steel, the wood, the light posts, the lattice fencing, and the strong ornate pillars make this NYC gateway a photographer’s delight. These memorable pictures capture all the love and joy that Vivien and Paul have for their future. I’m sure you will join with me in hoping for the very best for them.
