When you’re thinking about all the elopement ideas you could do with your kids, this is definitely something you don’t want to miss out on. Getting all ready together can be a great way to include your child! Think what it would be like to have your kiddo help brush your hair or zip up your dress! So special and so sweet. And, on top of that you will always have the photos to remember this beautiful moment by.
Give Them Time To Talk
If possible, give them time to talk! They can prepare a speech or write a letter to say during the ceremony or reception time. This will be such an amazing memory to look back on and something that you will always cherish. This will also help your kids feel like they are a part of the elopement day. It will allow them to be able to express their love in their own special way. And, it’s definitely going to be so sweet and adorable!!
Have Fun Together
Bring all the toys, games, and all of the fun things! Not only will this be used as a fun distraction for the kiddos when you are ready to take some photos with just the two of you, but it will also be nice to have everyone interact with together. It will show off the true personalities and really let them be, them!
Be Ok With Change & Stay Realistic Thinking About Your Elopement Ideas With Your Kiddos
One of my biggest elopement ideas and tips for involving your kids is to remember that things happen! And that’s ok! You know your kids better than anyone else which means you will know what is going to work for them and what is not. For example, if you are wanting to do a long adventure backpacking trip but you know that your kids won’t be able to last the whole time then I would recommend switching things up. You could either do a shorter hiking trip or you could still do the long hike and have a separate ceremony or reception including them! The best of both worlds! There’s always a way to make both situations work. We can plan it together!
